I have news of Stalky. He blanked.

Anyway, John has sent through the pictures of his capture from yesterday morning. The fish weighed 24lb 12ozs, so well done, John. We hope to hear the story of the capture soon.

I've been looking over my photos, and this looks VERY MUCH like it's the fish known as Davvy's mirror. If it IS, then it's down in weight bu a significant amount.

Here's the pics......................

Mr. Howard's had one last night 24lb mirror

Post by silver fox on Sat Oct 10, 2009 10:27 am

Just a few words on Wednesday night's capture. Arrived to find the canal bank, my first coice, fully booked. Chatted to Stokey and Lee and for once saw a fish roll in the top bay. Went round onto dam wall and fished half way between bay and bush. Bait boated a ring tight to margin in bay where I'd seen the fish roll. Cast middle rod about 80 yads straight out into 25 feet down the lake with 50 baits skicked round the area. Other rod on dam wall margin. Nothing happened all night. rang home at 6.45 to wake the family, drifted back to sleep. 7.30 steady take on middle rod. out of bag and onto ish inside 5 minutes, quick for an old'n. knew straight way it was a good fish. stayed deep and made heavy runs right to net where Stokey was on hand to net and do pics. Cheers mate! that's three overnighters since Jim and I came back from France and 2 twenties. perhaps my Tarde season is finally on the up?
