Right, now i'm back on line and active, i would be interested to see how many of you guys would be interested in me making a 3d model of the lake bottom.? This will be made in plasticine of modeling clay, and to the best of my knowledge, be accurate to within a few feet. I have seen the place totally empty and have over 30 years of experience in the way things change over time, and they do change! !I understand that we have some photos from Jason Swan, from when it was drained, as do i, and i will also use these to update or confirm my plan for this model should enough people request it. I also accept that some of you will not want this to happen as it will give away some or many of your hard earned secrets. The decision will be made by member vote at the first syndicate meeting at the cross pub, date to be announced soon, please feel free to post your opinions on this in the meantime.

yes i agree make them work for it ,this is where watercraft comes in to it and people who are willing to put in the extra effort reap the rewards of hard work

Im Gonna jump on Grant and Deans bandwaggon aswell on this one... Sorry! The photos I and Jason swann provided are ample clues as starting points (probably not mine so much as they show the res with a drop of water in still!) the rest should be down to the determination of the individual angler who wants to take the trouble to find them, not with just-add-water instant feature finding! we dont want the merit of captures to be devalued now do we? tongue

And also on a slightly soppy and sentimental note....There is a certain magic that Tardebigge has...and thats its element of mystery...If we take that away it leaves nothing to the imagination and without that we cease to wonder........... Question

i think that a big part of my fishing a new water is the feature finding ,walking the banks and looking for those little tell tale signs of a hotspot that everyone else has missed ,speaking as a carp angler with 25 plus years of experience i feel the sport has been made easy enough for us as in tackle and bait and i would find it a bit worrying if i had to resort to having to look at a model to know where to cast and feel this would certainately take a way alot of the self satisfaction i get from the capture of a carp

Just want to add that this is something i have been thinking of doing for some years now, i guess as an extention of my own angling enjoyment, on those days and nights when we're all frozen off the lake, it would be a way of keeping the effort level up while not actually fishing or observing the fishery. Its something i have done on three of the harder venues i fished in the past, just so every time i found a new feature or refined one i had already found i could just re model the clay, I found it far better than the hand drawn maps in 2 dimentions that i would draw in my log book. Or am i just OBSESSED!?

I didnt want to detract from your enthusiasm Russ, as part of me thinks its a great idea and in a way, Id love to see a model of it. I can even picture it with little fake trees that modelling enthusiasts used to be able to buy from Baylis's back in the day - Only old school Bromsgrovians will know what Im talking about here! Maybe, do one but keep it locked away or only show it to those who really wanna see...... tongue

P.s Why does it always take me longer to choose which smiley Im going to use than it does writing the actual words? lol!

well so far all of you are against the model which to me is no surprise as most of you have said let them find it for the selfs scratch BUT how many of YOU would have jumped at the chance to see such a model on your first year Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation or after more then a few blank nights, if people spent abit of time up there they would see what others are doing/which pegs are fished the most and why whats in front of them, which way rods/lines are facing where is bait getting fire out to then go back when no ones about and as stokie said whip it out Very Happy those that put effort in get reward back out Wink nothing like bank time
