I hear a certain welsh chappie has managed to sneak out the first tardy fish of the year! Ill leave the jubilant captor to fill in the details but a big WELL DONE to the fella. Congrats matey cheers

Yep. Was absolutely stunned to land a 15lb 4oz common this morning at 4.30am. I genuinely couldn't believe it, to be honest, when the receiver lit up.

Wanted to get the rods out, and have a bit of a social more than anything. Put the rods out with pop ups and sticks, with about 10 freebies around two of the rods. They were chucked out at 25, 50 and 75 - 80 yards range. Had indications on all of the rods over the course of the night, which were probably bream.

Lovely buttery orange turbo, which gave me a fair bit of a fight, given the time of year. Let's hope it's a sign of things to come. Thanks to Jimbo for the photos and lend of the Coleman.

Ha ha !! Sorry Sinon, should have texted you.

Here are a couple of photos. Before anyone says anything .........no.......I hadn't been on the ripsnorting piss. I left my contact lens holder at home, so had to sleep with them in. Never.......ever.......a good idea. Had to peel my eyes open on Sunday morning.

Forgot to say......Jim noticed that there's a possibility that a pike has had a go at this fish at some point in it's life..............
