It's got one on it..........

Well, did Saturday and Sunday nights with my brother, Alan, who enjoyed the tranquility, relaxation and the general atmosphere of the Res, plus a couple of Zinga and Shingas. Also enjoyed the chat/social on Saturday afternoon, with Pep Guardiola (Deaks) and the Stokemeister, who came down for a couple of refreshments. Most welcome.

The conditions in the past couple of weeks, have been pretty dire. North easterly wind for an eternity, high pressure, very little rain. It's all looked "stale" down there, with anglers who have excelled in years gone by (I don't count myself within this category, btw !!!), now scratching their heads.

So, upon looking at the forecast for the weekend, it was a pleasant suprise to see vigourous southerly/south easterly winds, low pressure, heavy showers. "At last", I thought, the conditions are right for it to kick off. The freshener the Res needs is here.

Myself, Pep, Jim, Tsunami Terry, Grubby and Ollie were all on for Saturday night, all looking at the conditions, and no doubt, all thinking "this is it - they're going to get their heads down". Thunder and lightning on Friday night. It lashed it down Saturday night, howling warm winds and it was looking good. All had seen fish in their vicinity, especially Tidalwave Terry (!! sorry !! can't resist it !!).

The result - null carpios. We headed into Sunday, with fish showing at range, and having managed to get some bait out there (my arm is killing me from sticking 14mm boilies into the wind), I still thought there was a chance. Monday morning emerged, and so did we, having had a completely uninterrupted sleep.

Don't know what's going on down there at the moment, and am licking my wounds if I'm going to be honest. Last night was the 10th night in a row without a fish. They are coming our sporadically, and mainly midweek from what I can see. One thing's for sure, when there's a number of anglers on the Res, they are shutting up shop. I get the feeling the Tarde carp are becoming more clued up, and are avoiding "obvious" areas, whereas in years gone by, this time of year was often a turkey shoot.

The Tarde carp are most certainly moving about, and have been for quite some time. Are they on the naturals? Have they gone on a no boilie diet? Who knows. What I DO KNOW, is that it's hard going down there at the moment.

Time for a re-think.

Keith don't get too disheartened this thing for you happened last year and things came through for you in the end chin up fella try and break from the norm fish swims you don't usally fish it may bring you a fish or two just keep fishing it hard till june mate hopfully see you up there this weekend..

I've ventured out of the Long Hole on a couple of occasions this season !!

Fished the caravan, house, tench and long runway. Result = nada.

I'll be back up there soon, and I'll deffo see you this weekend if your'e up.
