Three weeks after having "Liberated" the Silver Common from behind the net at 26lb 8oz I caught it again from the right side at 28lb 4oz.
Having been without boilies for over 12 months it had obviously been on the munch!

That capture was on 10th November and encouraged me to put in a bit of a campaign up until the present time.
I've been fishing out of Dennis's on weekly overnighters, baiting up two nights prior to fishing on each occasion.
The results per session have been as follows.

17th November a blank

25th November, 23lb 4oz mirror and 18lb 8oz common

48 hour session over 22nd and 23rd December, a blank...

That's 8 carp over 8 night's fishing with 3 blanks. So the 8 were caught over 5 of the overnight sessions.
I've caught carp before on winter overnighters at Tarde but nothing much in recent seasons. It's by far the best I've done in winter at Tarde and It just goes to show that if you put in consistent efforts on one swim over a period, even in the depths of winter, it's possible to still catch consistently. Will it carry on? time and the weather will tell particularly if we get iced up over a couple of weeks. however I'm planning to carry on into the New Year just to see if it does just shut down as I'd normally expect or if consistent baiting and fishing will keep a few carp feeding?
A big thanks to Keith and Jim for the photos of the Mosaic!
Hope all Tarde Anglers have a top Xmas and a rod bending New Year!

Fair play mate that's really good angling. The long nights take a bit of effort at this time of year, that would be a good result in the summer. Might just have to get the rods out in jan. Have a good Xmas and hope to see you in the new year.

Great stuff, John.

Putting all the younger guns to shame.

Great results due to effort and willingness. Well deserved.

Keith

santa Textbook winter carp tactics on a far from textbook winter carp water! Incredible results there Mr Howard, I'd challenge anyone to try emulate that this time of year, young or oldish! (I know how hard it can be). John can certainly show even the most experienced carp anglers a thing or two when on form, and the effort he puts in and drive he has for his fishing (and life in general) has to be seen to be believed. Happy Xmas all. santa
