Blanked Last Night

Did an overnighter last night in the House. Didn't see a roach fart. Had a few single beeps, and a stuttery "take" (more than likely a snotter), but nought.

The pot beds and weed are starting to come up now.

Going to try and do Saturday night, depending on how busy it is. Hopefully see you all down there soon, chaps.

Blanked over the weekend as well mate, had a few bream and a roach!

lakes gone dead looking, saw no carp on the surface, and even the fry and roach have disapeared out of the margin!

I recon their all taking refuse in the deep water away from the bad weather and that carp eating Heron!

Its def a carp thats been munched on top of the dam wall!

Even Ol's struggling, sa\ys hes had about 3 or 4 single beeps in the last 5 days!

I've been thinking about the scales/fins on the dam wall. The wind has been blowing north easterly for the past 10 days, and anything that's floating has been blown into the margins of the dam wall towards the bay. I'm thinking that a dead fish carcus (possibly spawn bound) would have been blown up there, and then anything could have taken it out of the water - could have been a large mink, badger, fox etc. There were drag marks into the longer grass behind the dam wall, so indicates that it wasn't a heron. I'm thinking it was a badger or a fox myself. If it was an otter, it would have taken a few bites and then left the body.

more than possible mate, my main reason for thinking it was bird life was that i'd been watching a crow fishing in that top bay, and it was taking the fish to the top of the dam and pecking them to bits up there.

Looking at the fins i'd guess that the victim on the dam wall was prob only a tiddler of a pound ish but this years tiddlers are next decades 50's! lol

Could even have been a dog I guess? plenty of them are in and out the water off the dam wall!
