From a while ago
A couple of pics of a common i had about 18 months ago. Found it the other day so i thought i'd scan it and put it up. 24lb 8oz from The Long.
I'll hopefully be seeing a few more of these over the coming season

I believe that that's the one known as the "Black Common". Having had a chat to Russ, John etc, I wouldn't be suprised if that fish goes 30 this year. It hasn't been out for well over a year now.

Hopefully, those scales would have healed by now. Perfect for whoever catches her this year. Secretly (not now), that's one of the "target fish" for me this year.
Ollie reckons it's one of the best fighting fish he's had out of the Res.

Yea come to think of it that fish did give me a bit of grief getting it in, ploughing up and down the margin picking up my other 2 back-leads on the way

That black common's a cracker, shame about that scar it never used to have that. The mrs had that fish about 3yrs ago at 24lb 8oz from the long hole, i caught it a couple of times soon after that but its been on the missing list 4 a while now. A possible 30 we dont know about?

It's got to be knocking 30 now, surely, Jim. Most of the "known fish" were up between 4 and 6lbs in weight at the end of last year.
It'll be interesting to see what it comes out at this year, if indeed it does.
May be a 35lber by now I'll get my coat.

Perhaps its not a big eater, hence why its not come out???
Then again looking at the gut on it that would not make sense!!
Was it spawned up for those photos? or has it been chobbling?

Don't know mate. It's not been out for 18 months (or if it has, the captor's kept it quiet). It's likely to be larger now, given that the other "known" fish were up in weight last year.
I personally think that the other fish that could go 30 is what me and Mark call "The Torpedo Common". Linky....

Re: From a while ago
yeah I saw it in the thread yesterday, thats a bloody good looking fish as well!
The torpido looks more solid then the black common, to me I'd have thought that one was more likley to be able to carry the weight off it looks longer and more sturdy!
Funny things fish! You just never can tell!
I bought my dad a 4 lb Koi for his pond 3 years ago, it was way bigger then the others, but for two years appeared to put no weight on.
Just as a couple of the others looked to be catching him up, he put on nearly 2 pounds in 5 months!
Lets just keep our fingers crossed hey, its the not knowing that keeps us coming back!
