Jim's Just Bagged one of his Target Fish - Davvy's Mirror

At 11.45 this evening, I was considering hitting the hay, having looked outside to see gales and lashing rain. Just then, I received a call from Mr Gilbert, who, with a backdrop of howling wind, asked me (nay - begged me !!), to go down and help him with some photos. He said he "believed" he had Davvy's mirror in his net at 26lb on the nose.

So, having changed into my wet gear, I set off up the Res. Had to stop twice to move fallen branches, and when I got into the car park, I've got to say, it's the blackest I've ever seen it down there - and windy - and p'ing it down.

Got over to Jim's swim, and we got the cameras ready. Out came the fish, and Jim parted the mesh, to reveal, indeed, his target fish (it's got a black spot on one of it's tail root scales). Jim was well chuffed. Apart from losing his bait boat tonight (it was THAT bad). We may have a Titanic fable to tell new members here. Jim was fishing his swim, and apparently, the last he saw of his boat was somewhere near the net in the house peg. Oh dear.

Anyway, I rattled off a few shots on my camera, before the lens got wet. Then got a few on Jim's, but the pics were being blurred by water on his lens (within 3 photos).

We then had a chat in the bivvy for 20 minutes, and the tight bugger didn't even offer me a cuppa !!! (only joking mate).

Well done, mate. I know you've been waiting for that one, and had to watch a right mob of reprobates catch it before you did (John Howard was last to have it out - hence the reprobates !!! ).

By the way - the photos aren't shit. They're being cut off for some reason. (before Jim starts going into seizure !!).

Update - I've now edited them in photobucket, so they should be better. And having checked them - they are !! Tidy darts !!
