Last Capture of 2009 - The Social - The U Boat !!!

Just thought I'd upload a couple of pictures of the fish I had on the night of the social. Jim, and the rest of us, in his 7 man bivvy !!! IF I recall, there was Jim, Loud Lee, Si, Me, Anthony, his mate and the Stokemeister General.

Anyway, the highlight of the night was Anthony and his nan bread hat !!! (You had to be there).

I managed to winkle this one out of the edge. It's a fish that Lee had last, and Russ had on May Bank Holiday weekend. Lee described the fight as the carp continually boring down for the bottom, so I suggest that this VERY recogniseable fish (look at the tail) be known as "The U Boat" - what do you think chaps? Think it was 21lb 12ozs.

Yes mate. No more than two rod lengths out. And with 4 other anglers on the canal bank.

Na Thats the same one, Apart from the obvious whiteness on the tail, look at the very end of the dorsal the way it points back and the white spot on the lower lobe of the tail and the two scales above the pelvics. As for colour, I had a linear that I caught when it was a turbo, Beautiful chestnut coloured fish then two years later I had it again and it looked completely washed out!
