The lake is 50% free now lads, by tomorrow it will be more like 75%, roll on the spring. will keep u all posted about the conditions, will be back up there the weekend for a little dangle i think, so will let u now how the lake is holding up. luckylee.

I wouldnt bother with a spod rod unless your thinking of other waters that is. Of course, that is just my humble opinion but with all those Bream and Hybrids etc all that particle type stuff might ruin your carp fishing. Save your money and Stick to your catty and throwing stick and fish over small beds of large boilies. They do love their hemp but its soooo risky "particle-arly" at any range! See what I did there? HA HA HA!!!

If you're going to be fishing Tarde, don't waste money getting a spod rod. We've got a number of boats which, as long as you have a life jacket, you can use to bait up (pre-putting your rods out). Much easier, quicker (less disturbance) and accurate.

You can get a tidy life jacket off ebay. £25 ish.
