Sorry i can't make this one didn't know about it till i just joined Forum. I'll certainly do the next one arranged got something arranged for the weekend.Iv'e always helped in the work party's on Lodge Park Pool .
Re: HI All
Ah no worries mate. Yeah theres loads of people who can give you a few tips anyway, just fish how you would normally fish. You mentioned hooklink materials etc. dont worry about it too much. Use whatever your confident with.
Re: HI All
The reason i asked is that iv'e only done 3/4 session carping & blanked every time i'm not sure the line &end tackle would be up to catching the large carp i would possibly catching. I'll tell what's on my reel's at the moment &you can tell me if it's adequate. On my reels iv'e 15lb's Kryston Krystonite Co Polymer Flourocarbon coated line .The hook link i'm using is to short 4 inchs of 14.5lb's Riverge Gran Max Flourocarbon line to a size 10 Esp Raptor Barbless hook i fish it on slack line method.Lucky-13 wrote:Ah no worries mate. Would this set up be suitable for the larger Carp i would be expecting to catch.
The rod's are 2 -2.75 12ft Daiwa Infinty X's long distance .
Re: HI All
Sound mate. 15lb Mainline, and similar hooklink, although Id probably step your hooks up to 6's or maybe 4's in some cases. when the weed becomes problematic you'll need a decent hook when your piling on the pressure. A 10 will just pull out.
Re: HI All
Cheer's for info looks as though i can use my mainline & hooklink's i have already Any info on what size 6' s &4's i would want make etc .Sorry for wanting such basic knowledge for you but i'm totally green on all this.
Re: HI All
Dont be silly! If I remember rightly a raptor is quite a short shanked hook with a straight eye and an inturned point?? should be fine mate. To be honest I dont tend to mess around with rigs too much. If the lake bed is clean Ill use a simple safety clip with 6" of esp sink link knotless knotted to a size 6. Or if presentation is seriously jeopardised by weed and bottom debris Ill use a chod rig. To be honest. I wouldnt fret over rigs so long as your bait is well presented, concentrate on location. thats the hard bit on Tardy!
