Strange lights in the sky!

Has anybody ever seen strange lights flying over the res? On saturday night when I was on the dam wall I saw over 10 of these lights. They came over the top of the trees in the bay one after the other and when they got to above the tench they vanished! there was no noise, no lights flashing and they were like flickering candles. It looked as though they had just took off from a field close by! I rang Jim who was in the bay and he seemed unsurprised and said that they were government reconnaisance aircraft! After talk of chem trails earlier in the week I was a bit uneasy! It was like close encounters of the res kind! I was wondering if I'd get abducted by little green men or I'd taken something I shouldnt have!

I thought that but do they fly in pitch black at midnight?

They give off more of a big flash bit like a lightning strike

Chinese lanterns?

Very popular at weddings, christenings, anniversaries etc. these days.

Think they caused a mass panic somewhere up north the other month.

Yea could have been me! Was at me mates on saturday havin a few light ales and decided on a trial run of letting the old lanterns off for his wedding in a few weeks. Didnt think they would make the res from breme park though

Dunno they were proper weird! It was as if they were just getting airborn from close by. They wasn't what you would call normal aircraft. It reminded me of old war films where you see a squadron of Lancasters taking off one after another on a night-time bombing mission! It was like there was a real purpose to what they were doing. As daft as it seems I think Jim might not be far wrong. Perhaps the M.O.D have got some top secret stuff going on close by that were not supposed to know about!
