Re: Is it true that..........
There have been 3 different 30s come out in the past two seasons.
The common has come out twice at 30 plus (Dean and I have caught it over 30), and Ollie has had two different mirrors at 30+. One last year, and one the year before.
There has been 2 X fish of 27+ (last year). A mirror (the long mirror) caught twice (me and Davvy) last year. And I think Davvy had a different 27+ in the same session.
The boys who have been on a while reckon there's at least 2 other fish that could push 30 this year (not including those referenced above). Those are (a) the Torpedo (b) and the Black Common. These are just the ones we know of.
It'll definitely throw up a suprise this year.

Mart
I really can't see it off the Simmos. I know what you're saying, but I caught quite a few of them, year before last, and they were all in the 18 - 20lb range. Mind you, the "football" hasn't been out for years. It looked more like a puffer fish !!!!

Re: Is it true that..........
Zero, a simmo is one of the fish stocked from mark simmonds they have put em in waters all over the country and some have piled on the weight.................. but ours didnt seem to do that well, the biggest i know of thats been out was a 23 1/2 to mr bedford that was 2 years ago but theres still some that i aint seen caught since the first year of stocking so who knows?????
Re: Is it true that..........
Aye.
Maybe I should put three zig rigs out, and spod like Cape Kernaveral over the top of them. Do you reckon I've got a chance, or owt? (a la Brasenose)

Re: Is it true that..........
I thought you were a bottom bait man????
I dont really see the point of a zig in water as deep as the res, you may as well just hooon a float out there and fish a pellet on a hair! At least you would have some indication then!
Anyone dont any good on the bagging waggler?????

Re: Is it true that..........
Zero - I was kidding about the zigs. That's the method they use down at Linear to haul pasties on the Brasenose lakes.
Re: Is it true that..........
Doesn't mean it wont work on the biggens though!
Not that many pasties in the res is there?
And I cant see that many bream being arsed to swim up through 30ft of water if your fishing it less then 10 ft deep!
Dont try these things dont get!!!! lol
