Mini Work Party This Sunday (25th September)
Hello All
Russ and John Howard have asked me to put up a message regards a mini work party for this Sunday.
Whilst the water is (significantly) lower than normal, it gives us a chance to look at potential snags that are usually underwater. Russ, John and I have had a good chat, and walk around the whole perimeter of the lake, and identified bushes/tree branches etc that we think could do with coming out.
Waterways are not sure exactly when they'll be re-filling the Res, so we need to act quickly, hence why we're asking any members who are able to make it, to come down the Res this Sunday morning (get there for 11am), to walk around in an organised group, and set to work on removing these snags.
If you CAN make it, this won't be too hard a job, and we would ask that you bring a saw/any equipment that is conducive getting rid of branches/snags etc. Gloves would be a good idea, too.
Thanks chaps.
Keith

I'm hoping to get up the res Friday/Saturday for an overnighter so will stick a saw, a shovel and some loppers in the car for the Sunday morning and lend a hand.

Nice one Rich. Thanks. Shouldn't be a major.

Hi guys, sorry i couldnt make this one. Hope you managed to make some headway with the snags in shitty conditions this morning.
Re: Mini Work Party This Sunday (25th September)
Just wanted to say thanks to the boys who turned up on Sunday. Myself not included. Have been for a walk around the Res at lunchtime today, and clearly, a lot of graft went into the day, in grotty conditions.
Apologies for not being able to make it. It was my missus' 40th birthday party on Saturday night, and we had two sets of friends staying at our house overnight. They didn't leave until 2pm, so I couldn't get down there. Wouldn't have been much use anyway.
Cheers chaps. A few more days like yesterday, with a few more chaps, and we can get back on the bank, and get rid of the runways. THAT - will be happy days.
Cheers
