Dean
Fladbury Weir on the Avon is very good, too.
Why not the Res? I'm sure we can sort something out for you.

Dean,
Holt Fleet and Bevere weirs on the Severn, the odd big un, especially at Bevere and always one on the inside slack of the weir pool. Not been for a few years though, think Holt is BAA but Bevere used to be pay the bloke in the bungalow.

Re: local pike fishing
Dean, there's also an old estate lake called Compton Verney in Warwick, near Gaydon, we used to fish it a decade or so ago and we used to have a few out up to 20's. No idea what it's like these days though. Hewell Grange (the prison lake by Tarde) has quite a few Pike in, but tend to only be up to low doubles. You have to join (think it's 20 quid a year) and can only fish during daylight hours, have to sign-in at the prison and it's a long walk to the decent areas. That's why I dropped out a few years back, shame really as there's also Tench to 10lb and a couple of old warrior Carp. I can probably still find a contact though if you're interested. Rich

Re: local pike fishing
Will try and find a contact Dean, might take a while, the old boy I used to fish with at Hewell Grange might no longer be with us! The chap who managed the fishing was also a guard called Colin I think.
If only we could fish Pike's Pool still, I could catch a Pike there in less than 5 minutes!

How you doing chap. I've just checked the patshull park web site, pike fishing £7.50 for the day stating that 30lb fish. I'm not sure if that's with boat hire or not, take a look at website may be what your looking for.

Re: local pike fishing
I used to fish the lock island at Bevere, it might be BAA now.
Pike's Pool is in Blackwell Deano, on the way to the res if you go down Pike's Pool Lane. Lots of us caught our first Pike there as kids but the Scouts wont let anyone fish it now!

Re: local pike fishing
oh right i know the lane but i have never been down it ,i`m really getting in to this piking but its costing me a small fortune lol,i used to do a lot of piking about twenty odd years ago but as time went on carp became alot more widespread and the winters were then spent chasing carp for not alot of return so this year i`m going to concentrate on the pike more and hopefully get a bend in the rod a little more often

Re: local pike fishing
Deano, got a number for HMP Hewell off government website:
Tel: 01527 785000
Fax: 01527 785001
Governor: Kieron Taylor
Suggest you don't ask for the guvnor! The chap who used to run the fishing club was a guard called Colin (he may well have retired now). Just ask about the fishing club permits.
