New Member - Daft Question

Hi all,

Name's Len, myself and number one son have just had the pleasure of being allowed to join

A couple of questions if I may regarding rule 5.

"BARBED HOOKS ARE RECOMMENDED, IF YOU USE BARBS PLEASE CRUSH THEM."

Is the rule saying we should use barbed hooks but crush the barb first? Or would a 'pinched' barbless hook be acceptable?

Fishing for the silver fish / pike, would barbless hooks be OK or would crushed barbs be preferred?

I ask because we don't have a barbed hook between us and we'd hate to get it wrong.

Also, can I apologize for not being there for the working party this weekend - we found out too late to rearrange other commitments - but at least you'll have good weather for the weekend we have an uncanny knack of bring the rain with us
